SHOW-REPORT
26E C.E.T.S. 21-09-02: Today
something positive took place for our breed in Germany. I never thought
it should happen again, but today the C.E.T.S. (Continental European
trophy Show) was organised in Germany and it was in Gelsenkirchen on the
Greyhound Course. It was for the 26e time this show was organised on the
continent. This show is for the breeds Bull Terrier, Miniature Bull
Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier.
Normally this show is organised in Germany by the GBF (Gesellschaft der
Bullterrierfreunde e.V.) one year and the other year by the BTCB (Bull
Terrier Club Belgium), but as everybody knows there were a lot of
problems in the last years in Germany with this breeds, so the Belgium
Club organised it for the last years in Belgium. So now the show was
back in Germany. A lot of people were acquainted with the location,
because in the past the Germans organised here the Jacob Bouma Memorial
Shows. The location is perfect when the weather is good. We were lucky
because the weather was good. In the morning, during the Open Show, it
was cloudy but in the afternoon, when the C.E.T.S. Trophy-show took
place, we had sunshine. For some human participants it was hot,
especially for the handler of the winning Bull Terrier. As
Gregor von Dungen, 1e Chairman of the GBF, said in his foreword in the
catalogue it was a financial risk to organise this show. It’s not
allowed to breed Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and American
Staffordshire Terriers at the moment in Germany. So for the puppy- and
youth classes in the Open Show they
expected not so many entries. For
the Open Show there were 52 entries and for the Trophy show there were
61. In the past the entries were much greater but when you see what is
happening in Germany during the last 2 years a total of 112 dogs is not
bad. For
judging the Bull Terriers the GBF invited Mr.Danny Gilmour from England
(Staffordshire Bull Terrier kennel “Dumbriton”) and Dr.Maurizio
Marchetti from Italy (Bull Terrier kennel “di Acquanegra”). Dr.Maurizio
Marchetti was judging the open Show. He was starting with the Youth
class for males. There was only one dog the black brindle Hammels
Apocalypse (Terjo’s Sundance x Dajan Absolutly Saboulous), breed in
Belgium, but living in Holland. He got the qualification Excellent and
became the CAC (CAC is the same as CC in England) for Young Dogs. This
is a CAC for dogs till the age of 18 months, when they win 3 times this
CAC they get the title German Youth Champion. There was 1 entry for the
Champion class, but the dog was absent. In the Open class for males we
had 2 entries. Winner
of this class was X-Boy von der Alten Veste (Ch.Turkshead Saracen of
Kilacabar x Velvet von der Alten Veste), he also won the normal CAC.
Second was HeiBsporn Bobo (Ch.Lothary’s Mortimer x Lothary’s
HeiBsporn Coco). They both got the qualification Excellent. So for Best
Male we saw 2 dogs in the ring and the Best male was Hammels Apocalypse.
This was the first success for a Dutch participant and a lot successes
should follow. After
this the judge started with the bitches and we were lucky that there
were more entries. The
first class was the Youth class with 6 entries. Winner of this class was
the white bitch Rhydaman Belle of Gercy (Ch.Emred’s Devil’s Chance x
Ch.Callender Girl), she is also coming from Holland just as the number 2
in this class the white bitch Yoeckydoe’s Annabell (Victoryman Tsalagi
of Cherokees x Yoeckydoe’s Voila) (bred in Belgium). Rhydaman Belle of
Grecy also got the Youth CAC. In
the Champion class were 4 entries and 3 of them were Dutch Champions.
The winner of this class was the brindle bitch Ch.Missing Funday of
Serious Desire (Ch.Einstein the Joker WW’95 x Ch. Quicksilver Jodi of
Serious Desire). She is more than 6 years but still in a perfect
condition. Number 2 was the white bitch Ch.Stormbandit’s Fay Fury
(Ch.Grisse Basse Charming White Devil x Stormbandit’s Sherran Kayli). For
the Open class bitches we had 3 entries and the winner was a bitch from
Hungary called Carmen Del Dolgezza del Movimenti (Ch.Graysham Dodger von
Bressendorf x Ch.Cosmopolitan Graffiti). She also got the normal CAC.
Number 2 was Emily Light of the White Star (King’s of Darkness Zodiac
x Bottom’s Blanche) from Germany. In
the Veteran class we had also 3 entries, but the oldest one, 14 years
old, was absent. So we saw McCoy’s Penelope (McCoy’s Flagship x
McCoy’s Ashley Dark Raven) she is 9 years old and Daisy Duchess
Blackear of Gentiefolks (Big Ben’s Eddy x Farmajen’s Ella Bella) she
is 11 years. They got no qualification but it was nice to see those old
ladies in good condition. Best
Bitch was the winner of the Youth class Rhydaman Belle of Gercy. She was
also B.O.B. So
the Open Show was a big success for the Dutch participants. After
lunch the C.E.T.S. Trophy started and Mr.Danny Gilmour was also in the
ring. They both started to judge the dogs and after a short talk
together they said who was the winner and who the runner-up. In C.E.T.S.
we have 7 different Trophies. They
started with the Ch.Kingsfarm Bonny Boy Memorial Trophy for Best
Coloured male. For this Trophy were 11 males, from all over Europe,
invited. Best Coloured Dog and winner of this Trophy was the red and
white male Ch.Yoeckydoe’s Yes It’s Me (Victoryman Tsalagi of
Cherokees x Yoeckydoe’s Voila). Runner-up was the brindle male Wombat
vom Telgei (Ch.Norman von der Alten Veste x Ch.Vitara vom Telgei). The
next Trophy was the Ch.Harper’s Howda Memorial Trophy for Best White
male. For this Trophy we had only 4 invited dogs. Winner of this Trophy
was a male from Germany called Amadeus vom Adlerturm (Ch.Lothary’s
Mortimer x Ch.Candida the
Dream of life WW’02). I never saw anybody looking so amazed after
winning a Trophy than the handler of this dog. Runner-up was also a male
from Germany, but bred in Holland, Ch.Pollyssa’s Brainy Braveheart
(Ch.Quest Thunderstruck x Pollyssa’s Cassiopeia), he is already 6
years but in a very good condition. After
this 2 Trophies there is the Lenster trophy for Best Bull Terrier Male
and this Trophy was for Ch.Yoeckydoe’s Yes It’s Me. Then
it was time for the bitches. The first Trophy for them is the
Bramblemere Trophy for the Best Coloured bitch. We had 11 invited
bitches for this Trophy.Winner of this Trophy was the black brindle
bitch Kingsfarm Black Pearl at Chacoriki (Ch.Quest Thunderstruck x
Chacoriki Zinsi) from Holland. Runner-up was a bitch who was bred in
Belgium but living in Holland, the brindle bitch Mystic’s Sun Zero
Double (Multi Ch.Special Edition of Serious Desire x Gigant’s Empire
Almeria). For
Best White Bitch there is the Souperlative Trophy. This was the biggest
class with 12 invited bitches. And also here a winner from Holland. Her
name is Suicide Blond off Daikini (White Lightning off Daikini x
Nightingale off Daikini). Runner-up for this Trophy is also from Holland
but bred in Belgium, Ch.Waltzing Mathilda’s Yarrawonga (Ch.Gentle
Lawman of Kilacabar x Ch.Kilacabar Continental Girl). So
we had 2 bitches from Holland for the Ch.Phidgity Snowdream Trophy, the
Trophy for Best Bitch. The winner of this Trophy was Kingfarms Black
Pearl at Chacoriki. At
this moment we have had 6 from 7 Trophies. The last Trophy is the most
important one because the 26e C.E.T.S. Trophy is for the Best Bull
Terrier on the Continent and for this Trophy we see the Best male and
Best bitch in the ring. So we saw Ch.Yoeckydoe’s Yes It’s Me from
Belgium and from Holland Kingfarms Black Pearl at Chacoriki. The bitch
was the winner of this important Trophy and it was the handler/owner of
this bitch, Jack Silder, who thought there was a heat wave this
afternoon in Germany. This bitch was winner of 3 Trophies and as usual
in Germany the format of the cups is very large. So when your dog wins 3
of this big things you have a problem when you are living in a small
house. All
winners, CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!! In
spite of all the problems they have in Germany it was a good show and
the Bull Terrier people in Germany have to go further in there fight
against the government. But for this case they need a lot of money. If
you love the Bull Terrier please support the German Bull Terrier Defence
Fund. You can find all information about this Fund on www.bullterrier.nl
